We have a new Head

New Overseeing Officer for the Advanced Manufacturing Technology Development Institute (AMTDI) Jalingo in person of Engr. Salami Saliu has been appointed and has assumed his duties on 24th June, 2024 by the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (EVC/CEO) of National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). His appointment is necessitated by the demise of former Overseeing Officer, Late Engr. Christopher Tanko that answered the call to glory after ill health on 22nd of June, 2024.

With a resolute commitment to building on the achievements of his predecessors, he aims to propel the institute to its rightful place in Research and Development (R & D) and other services the institute is known for. His vision is to make the institute one of the formidable institutes of NASENI in R & D and manufacturing
Salami, an awardee of Federal Government Bureau for External Aid Scholarship is a graduate of Belarus State University, Minsk and Kirovograd Machine-building Institute, Kirovograd, Ukraine, both in former USSR, where he attained his combined Bachelor and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Programme

He is a member of Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and certified Procurement officer; a seasoned professional engineer and procurement officer with many years of experience in various capacities, spanning public and private sectors some of which are Dunlop Nigeria Plc, United Distillers & Vintners Nigeria Limited, Ogun State, Odu’a Textile Industries, Old Ondo State, Lagos State University, Lagos and Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI), Minna. Salami emphasized the importance of continuity and change in the administration of the Institute; continuity in the good legacies of his predecessors and adjustment where necessary for the growth of the institution. “As we start a new dispensation, I come to build on the commendable work of my predecessors. My aspirations are in tandem with the EVC’s Creation, Collaboration, Commercialisation (CCC), including continuous training and retraining of staff for better output in our mandate and enhancing quality of our R & D products. Staff welfare and improved work conditions of staff to enhance their zeal and attitude to work are also part of our priorities as a management of AMTDI, Jalingo. Salami expressed his appreciation to the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Khalil S. Halilu for finding him worthy of the appointment to the position of Overseeing Officer of the Institute, the members of staff for their cooperation thus far and continuous support of all stakeholders. He pledged to build upon the existing foundation and, with the cooperation of the staff, achieve even greater success.
